New chicks...this wasn't supposed to happen!

Well, we had to make a trip to our local Big R store yesterday and what did we hear.....peep, peep, peep. Oh no, chicks! What?

I thought I was safe - they're not supposed to have chicks this time of year, they never have before.

Needless to say I wasn't prepared, my defenses were down! And they were Easter Eggers & Rhode Island Reds - I don't have any of those. So, of course we now have 3 of each!

Thanks for the reassurance - it's hard to have any willpower around these cuties! So far I have not gone back for more. Then again, there's always tomorrow!

nicoletm24 - we got 3 RIR's and 3 EE's. They are so mellow and gentle compared to our original batch of chicks we got this past spring (Buffs, Sex Links & a BR).
