Hopefully Townline Hatchery in Zeeland, Michigan. If I don't get a response from them pretty soon, then I'll get them from Randall Burkey Hatchery. I corresponded with someone who ordered some from Townline Hatchery and was very happy. I debated which hatchery. Randall Burkey Hatchery is closer to me as it is located in Texas, but with the hot weather I thought temp shouldn't be to much of a problem this time of year coming from Michigan.

There are only two hatcheries that sell then. Townline Hatchery and Randy Burkey. I work at Townline and we buy our breeders from Canada. We hatch them though Oct.

ghulst,
Is there a minimum number of chicks on a Townline order? And is there a website you could share?
Thanks!

Here is Townline Hatchery's Web site. Click on the button marked "HatcheryPrices" for orders of 100 or less.

Today I got my brooder out as the chicks (25 chickies) will be shipped out on Monday and I want to be ready. Also I'll be cleaning out their coop over the weekend as I have have been using it as a shed.

Thanks!
BTW, it was ironic, I opened the Asheville NC area "Iwanna" last night and there was a listing in poultry for ISA Brown's!
If only I were ready NOW!javascript:insert_text('

I have heard members say that "Isa Browns" are the friendliest birds. So my question is, I have 5 IB, 5 BR, 5 BO and 5Aracunas. It is very hard for me to tell many of them apart as they are changing, so spending time, petting and holding them is rough. It has gotten to the point where I cant tell who I have petted or not. They are 18 days old now. Are these naturally friendly birds or do I need to continue to put my hand in the brooder and attempt to pet them?

I got my chicks from two different sources--6 of them selected from a large bin at TSC (supposed to be all pullets) and 3 of them ordered thru the local co-op. When I ordered them from the lady at the co-op, I asked her what kind they would be and she said "brown", which wasn't the glorious description I wanted, but it was all she could muster, I guess.......Anyhoo, All my birds kind of match each other--all brown and some have more white in them than others, but so far, they all look like girls--that's what we call them --"the girls". They are soooo friendly, love to cruise around in the yard in the evenings, love treats like cooked spaghetti and strawberry tops. We pick them up and they bok briefly but settle down and will snuggle up to us. One is ALWAYS the last one to go in or out--she is always just dilly-dallying around. One named Senorita Brownback is the leader, along with Giant Fluffy Butt. (my son names them.....). They are great birds and we can not wait for our first eggs!

Enjoy your chickens!
