Hello,
We are 8 people (1 rooster, 1 hen, 1 pullet and 5 cockerels), two dogs, one cat, one turtle, six new chicks and several garden plots. New to the chicken life but have read much here and are thankful for the available info. Building a coop in the next few weeks so the babies can get out and about safely. My wife grew up with chickens but I'm a city boy who wanted to grow up in the country/woods. We have been trying to go back to the old ways by growing our own fruits veggies and grain. It is a lot of work but well worth it in the long run. We homeschool the six kids and love every minute if the work we put in as the results are obvious.
