New colour line

Hi
I would like to create a new colour line in silkies. My question is do i start 1 line or 2 line of the same colour?

I'd imagine you'd want as many birds as unrelated to each other as possible, to avoid inbreeding and get healthy birds.

You should start with 2 different lines of the same color, for genetic diversity.

I agree with @Fishkeeper and @Cyprus. Keep two separate bloodlines. Breed offspring together but also keep the two foundation lines pure.
