Thanks ncgnance! We're going to go for it. I had originally thought a barn red would be nice but now I'm thinking I don't want this huge building screaming barn since the neighbors don't know that we now have 15 chickens, two of whom are roos. Well, they know about the roos since Sunday when Oliver began crowing again. Not till 8:00 so I'm hoping for no complaints. He's not that loud, yet...
Henry, the Orloffs didn't make it. They only lived a couple of days after shipping. I lost one of my black australorps as well. Everyone else is doing great!

great I am now remembering the orloffs the barnvelders look good so do all the little ladies you have more chickens then me

everything looks so fabulous!
i can't wait to see pics after you get it painted.
you have such a big yard- your neighbors can't be too close can they? maybe they will love the sound of roos crowing? hee hee hee. . .
oh, also, your hens are just lovely. you have a great flock there

Well, we're not right on top of each other and it is certainly louder in the yard than it would be on either side. No neighbors behind us unless you go through a quarter mile of woods. The backyard is a half acre. Three shepherds on one side and one newfoundland on the other-they make more noise than the roos (yes George is now crowing along with Oliver) and the duck combined. Throw in my three dogs and it's no contest! It's the neighbors across the street that would squack enough to cause problems and I don't think it's that loud that far over. The coop is at the back of the yard.

It will probably be July before we get any paint on it. Every weekend is packed and then we're off for HoverRally in Ohio right after school gets out. At least we've decided on a color!

Thanks, they sure seem to be. Room to move around. Nice high roosts. Windows on three sides. They can hang out underneath if it's raining. I love that I can stand up in it! That's a first here. I also love that there's room for more.......
