New Coop in the Barn...Way too many pics!

For what, exactly, do you use the egg fridge? Is it to keep them at a temperature to maintain fertility until you're ready to incubate, or simply to perserve space within your in-house fridge?

Okay, I didn't really. That is a great set-up!
Are those ones with the tufts on their heads Legbars? They are SO pretty!!!

Nope they are all pure Icelandics. Some have crests, some don't. Some have upright combs, some peacombs, some have a unique comb type all their own. They are the "box of chocolate" birds. You never know what you are going to get!

I am planning to use it to store eggs for re-sale to the feed store. They offer fresh eggs to their customers. I live on a dead end road to nowhere so we don't have the traffic to sell eggs from home. Plus I am not fond of strangers knocking on the door. So they will pay me $2.20 per dozen and they resell for $3.00. It will hold eight dozen. I will be able to redeem those for about the price of a bag of feed!

This is not a money making venture, just a way to use the eggs that will be generated by my passion for Icelandic chickens. And if I pay for a bag of feed now and then...WIN WIN!
