New coop run - currently yard grass - what should we do ?

9ft wide x11ft long = 99square feet. That's good for 24 chooks. :thumbsup
You're platinum :gig
Your early posts sounded like MUCH smaller dimensions!
6 chickens will be super happy here.
Just be ready for chicken math. It strikes when you least expect it. :lau:lauThat's the only time you will need to enlarge your coop by 4sqft per bird.
Nice job!:highfive:

Your girls are gonna think they died n went to heaven!
Now, back to your original query.........
GRASS! A layer of wood chips, not shavings will help keep it dry. Poop will wash down through them keeping it clean and will fertilize the soil underneath pulling up worms for them to scratch up. Lovely.

What should we do for the run after the chickens dig up all the grass?
Relocate it periodically. Looks light enough.
Perhaps fasten some drop down wheels as well. Each time it is moved, the earth has been fertilized and grass will grow back quickly this time of year.

What part of the peninsula to you live in?

I'm near Dunnellon Fl. NOTHING is too heavy to move. You should see our tractor houses. They are on skids and they are pulled by a 4x4 just a few feet over so the grass can rest.
Looks like a good set up for 5 birds.
Good job and good luck.
You’re right I just don’t have the means to move it . Maybe eventually we can . Good to meet a FL chicken neighbor!
