Hi, please can anyone tell me whats gone wrong!
I got 3 chickens at 15 weeks old brought a coop from Bunnings every thing was fine
they just out grew their coop. So we build a much bigger one with 4 nesting box’s and a long run. They are all laying eggs every day. but they just won’t use the roosting bars at night? WHY? 😫 Their sleeping on the floor of the coop the girls are 7 months now..
roosting bars are 50mm wide with a bit of a round on top?

Welcome to BYC!
Can you please post some pictures of the interior and exterior of your coop?
You really only need 1 nest box for three birds...

Good on you for having recognized that your purchased coop was too small and building a new one!

Please show us photos of your setup and let us know your general location (you can add it to your profile), so that we can give you better advice. :)
Thanks 😃 post photos tomorrow

Nice big run, though it could use some clutter (see this awesome thread for ideas).

You say that the chickens are sleeping on the floor of the coop itself, down below the nest boxes?

That's odd because chickens normally want to sleep as high as possible. Most people put the roost above the nest boxes so that the chickens won't sleep in the boxes.

Perhaps moving the roost up would make it seem like a more desirable sleeping spot?
