New decree from NC Agriculture Head requires registration of even one chicken with the State!

I would contact my representative and then ask if you make no money off your chickens if all their care, food, and medicine would then be tax deductible as a farming loss. They may change their minds real quick.

I'm not paranoid but he who controls the food controls the people! there's dog flu here in nc how come they haven't state mandated everyone to "register" their dogs just in case? I have a weird feeling about this being more than what they're implying

In my personal opinion, it's to invoke paranoia in people so they get votes next election. Chicken people know that it is ridiculous but non-poultry owners will think it's so great that they're working so hard to keep bird flu from hitting and protecting everyone, thus getting votes from those panicking people.
Here in WV, we actually do have a dog tax. I think it's suppose to be like $12 a year per dog or something like that, though it's not very strictly enforced.

This pisses me off, I have 60 free range birds in an enclosed back yard, water foul does not come on my yard. If I have a farm number than I am going to pay farm taxes. Get out of my business Troxler!

This is yet another form of tyranny...

The King did this with TEA too.... and look what happened...

Before you take my birds,
they will end up dead and rotting, covering your precious capital steps with their blood.

I will not comply...

We already have this in MD, has not been a big deal but it did drag my timeline out until the last second for chicks (I had already ordered). Took me a few months to get all my licenses. I had to get the state license before our county one and our new dog had to be licensed in order to get the county chicken license...and with the dog license, there is a huge fee is a huge difference if they are fixed or not. Was planning on getting the dog fixed, but there are developmental issue for not having it done early..........4-5 months later I had all my paperwork done lol.

Figures MD would have it that state is in love with Government regulations.

Yea, not following along with this crap. The only reason I am getting my flock NPIP certified is because we will be selling our excess eggs off.

BTW all you folks in NC that have the NPIP cert, you are exempt from this crap.
