New Diet

Ok got back from the river trip today.
Lots of temptation with the s'mores at night, but I just drank my chocolate drink at night and I was fine.

Everyone including the kids were very supportive about my diet. They would forget once in awhile and offer me a cookie or something else I could not eat and then they would remember and apologize. I'd tell them that it was alright.

Ran into a problem on the first day though. I had bought a brand new life jacket about a month ago for this trip. I had trouble buckling it closed back then, well I put it on and realized it was now too big and I had to tighten the buckles.

The front parts were actually crossing each other before it was tight enough.
Had a similar problem with my rain pants and luckily it had a draw string so that held them up.

We went 52 miles down the river. I know I did most of the paddling that second day, my partner was what we call a "bread butterer" they make the motions but nothing really gets done.

I am feeling alot better. My back no longer bothers me. My ankles no longer hurt, my left knee is not popping all the time now and I am sleeping much better.
My hips are a bit sore from sitting in the canoe, but I noticed I was not as rung out or as tired as I was last year at the end of the days.

Stepped on the scale and I have lost 27 pounds so far.

Have had a couple days where I was feeling fatigued. Talked to my friend and she told me to slow down. A little hard to do that when you are farming and ranching. Was told I could eat another protein meal, but figured with as quickly as the weight was coming off I would rather slow down on the physical labor then eat more. So I now clean the barn every other day instead of every day.

I was in town yesterday with DD and we both got our hair cut and I stopped at my favorite clothing store because they had the neatest clothes on display. I was tempted to get a couple of new shirts until DD said, "Mom they won't fit you in another month. Just wait and buy new clothes when you reach your goal weight." Great kid to remind me of that. We left quickly.

You sound like you are where I am. All my clothes are too big. I look like a homeless woman. I actually had a pair of pants just about fall off at work and I weighed myself. Down another 6 lbs. Mine has been VERY slow, over almost 4 years, but hell I'll take it!!! I keep wanting to go shopping, but after the pants incident, I know I am not done yet.....

CONGRATS!!!!!!! You will be skinny before me at that rate!!!

Awesome job Herfrds! You are making me totally jealous!

Deb, My weightloss has been going extremely sloooooow as well. I've lost about 3-4 pounds over about a month. It can be so discouraging at times. I'm eating right, working out three times a week, and doing a bunch of other active things. I wish it would come off faster, but I know that any faster and it will just come back on later. I just gotta keep motivated!

Even the Dr in charge of the diet is suprised by how much I am losing. It is slowing down a bit, but not much.

I've lost 141 pounds.

I just finished reading a great book called "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis. I highly recommend this book. You can buy it on Amazon.com.
The wheat we have today is not the wheat we ate as children. It's killing us.
I've lost 141 pounds in the last 19 months. No diet, no calorie counting, no worry about cholesterol, no worry about fat foods, no running on the treadmill for hours a week, no diet pills, no diet. If you would like to learn more about the how and why of my lifestyle change, check out my blog at: http://danmoffett.blogspot.com/
Eat
meat, eggs, leafy greens. Avoid sugars and carbs.
FREEDOM!

dmoffett I am a wheat farmer and I get pretty darn defensive over comments like yours.
By the way I eat my own wheat.
