New Diet

Thanks for the tips! They gave us a warning about the first three days and I think they suggested having an extra protein meal in that first three days. I'm looking forward to starting but I know that it would be frustrating.

How in the world did you manage to only have one cookie? THat's wonderful! And you're right, you just get back on track afterward and don't look back. I'm really excited that my knees will stop hurting. That alone is justification for doing the diet.

I will be watching this thread for your updates! You are such an inspiration. Thank you!

I just kept telling myself "Just one cookie and no more." I had to say that a whole lot.

Wasn't easy.

It is not easy seeing people eating food you cannot have. It is also tough eating out. Just a tip. Carry your own salad dressing. Walden Farms makes the sugar free, carb free, fat free dressing. I mix the thousand island and ceasar dressing. If you like the vinegar and olive oil pack your own. The only thing I have found has always been vegetable oil and balsamic vinegar.
I tried a place called Salad Creations. Cost me almost $12.00 for a bowl of spinach with chicken, onions, and mushrooms. Not a big selections for a person on this diet. Had a better selection at Golden Corral and the server told me that they have white vinegar upon request.
So look for the best places with good salad bars.

Also if you cheat on this diet after you have been on it for quite awhile you will end up with some cravings. Also if you eat anything with sugar in it you will get a sugar headache. Yes that is experience talking.

Got my fingers crossed for you too marcy.

Oh thanks for the tips! I will have to keep that in mind. Oy I am NOT looking forward to going out to eat for the first time. That is gonna be hard! I have officially gone 38.5 hours without a single carb or sugar

I am tired and grouchy, but I'm sure that will pass.

Last night I cooked whitefish in olive oil and Nature's Seasonings. It was surprisingly delicious even though it was so simple. Served up with a mix of asian veggies. Yum.

AND! I have figured out the yummiest solution to lunch problems. I work during the day, and I couldn't figure out what to do for lunch since I can't eat sandwiches. I get one of those cans of chicken breast (or tuna), mix in a little light mayo and some green onions, and put that in tupperware. Then I wash a couple leaves of Romaine lettuce, wrap them in paper towel still damp (keeps them fresh), and take it to work. Then at lunch time, I put some chicken mix on the lettuce leaf, wrap it up, and VIOLA! A delicious healthy lunch

The one fish that I found I really loved was sea bass broiled with a little olive oil on it. Tasted like buttered lobster.
I can have the lobster but no butter.

I have eaten at Burger King. I order the whopper, but have them hold off on the cheese, ketchup, mustard and mayo. then I just remove the bun and eat everything left.
Mc Ducks tried to charge me more just to do the same thing with their quarter pounder. I didn't pay and I haven't been back.

ChickenThief try going down the Missouri River on a 56 mile canoe trip with a group of 7th graders on this diet. I was on my second week of the diet when I did it.
Everyone was very helpful and supportive. The poor kids kept trying to be nice and would forget and offer me s'mores.
Some of the kids have not reconized me either.

Gotta get a new life vest too. I bought one just to go and when I got it I could barely buckle it. By the end of the trip the front was crossing over it's self and I had to keep tightening it every day. It was a 4 day 3 night trip.

Hmm. I haven't tried sea bass I don't think. I'll have to try that. What temp did you broil it at and for how long?

That has got to feel good to have everything be shrinking around you. I can't wait to get to that stage myself!

I just stuck it under my broiler in my oven on high. It only takes a couple of minutes on each side.

Marcy I forgot to tell you. With this diet you will lose weight all over.
My new shoes no longer fit. I just bought them this summer and now my feet slide clear to the end.
I can no longer wear my wedding band it keeps falling off.
