New duck family nanny

Welcome to BYC! Good for you for helping Mama Duck out! My only concern would be helping a bit more than she's comfortable with could scare her away. Provide some buckets of water and even a baby pool for some fun entertainment! You may get to see them take their first swim!
Thanks for joining our flock!
This sounds fun! I agree!~

I hope he makes sure to make sure they won't get stuck in the pool though.

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for the well wishes!

Just an update for anyone that's interested...

tomorrow the ducklings should be 2 weeks old! I'm trying not to domesticate them...I guess they are in-between. I don't handle them or get too close, but I sweet-talk them all day long :love
They now have an outdoor coop, but take "nature walks" into a limited portion of the yard to forage and I made a small artificial stream out of shower curtain liner and small rocks lol.

Thank G-d they are eating well...likes: crumble mash with oatmeal, brown rice, peas, shredded carrot in water; dislikes: strawberries, bananas, shredded apple.

Mama takes 1-2 flights per day and I duck-sit until she returns. Longest jaunt was 1.5hrs during a hot afternoon. But I invested in a cheap duck call and she usually returns within 10min of me using it (maybe just coincidence).

Anyway, I'm taking it day-by-day, I'm getting into a groove with the chores so it helps. What does not help is that I fractured my left foot last Sat, but again thank G-d I'm able to walk on the heel now, but everything takes me 3x as long to do.

Hope everyone is doing well, looking forward to spending more time on here soon!
