New duckling can’t raise head

Just an update- the little duckling seemed to be getting weaker and weaker throughout the day despite feeding and watering every hour or so. It got to the point where I could hold it on its back to syringe feed it and it wouldn’t even struggle to flip over. It had no control of its neck whatsoever and wouldn’t open its eyes even when I tried to startle it. Then about 20 minutes ago I checked back and it’s eyes were open and it’s head was moving around and alert. It was even drinking from the syringe on its own. I think it just decided to live! I’m not getting my hopes up but it looks 90% better than it did an hour ago. Also all 7 of the other ducklings hatched. 2 hatched on their own and I assisted the others. They are doing very well with their mom.

Wow, it looks so much better! Great job taking care of it

Last night I put another duckling in the incubator with “Little Quack” as I've decided to call it to keep him company. This morning they are doing very well together and Little Quack is following the other duckling around. Still wobbly but getting much better. Most of the time he can flip himself onto his stomach if he falls into his back and has a very good appetite. In pic #3 he is the one on the left.

I’m so so happy you gave this little guy a chance. He definitely had a rough start but he seems to be doing much better now and I hope that he continues to do so. He seems so happy :) Congratulations and I’m so glad you were able to save this little guy :thumbsup:jumpy:woot:yesss::highfive:
