Awww.....I ordered two baby girl Buffs from Metzer and they were the BEST!! I love them dearly
Unfortunately I just lost one of them a week ago to an Eagle. I’m so heartbroken. But be aware with the Drake ratio. I will never have more than one at a time with my small flock. They are rough. Good Luck.

You are so so smart to use pea gravel where the food and water are! I am in love!!! Hey do you know how duck math works??? If you don't then here you go: 1+0=2....1+1=4 and so on!!!! Have fun with them and be with them lots so they can imprint on you!

I'm so sorry you lost you Buff. I miss mine dearly. It was only a few weeks ago and I still grieve for her. Predatory birds will come back to an area once they know food is around, so we've buckled down pretty hard on our yard and their areas. I had to get another buff, but when you get one, you always get 2.
I'm cautiously optimistic with my drakes. The mallard has always had a bit of a wild streak and dominant, where as my khaki campbell is very sweet and passive. Campbell hasn't hit his hormonal swing though, and Mallard right in the middle of it (he and the buff where raised together, so he lost his girl). I don't think anyone's tried to mate our KC girl yet. I'm very attached to my boys, as they are to me, so I'll make them they're own area in the yard. We've got the space for a bachelor pin.
