I wasn't planning to post this video, got a tripod for my phone and tried it out but pointed the camera too deep… The white Duck with the red band on her leg is Blanca, the one with the green band is Earthquack. I guess you can identify PomPom…I want to see her in motion!!
Well, based on this I decided to bring the scale to the back deck so I could weigh one of our adult white ducks. Happened that Big Daddy was the easiest to catch. Boy was I surprised when I stepped on the scale! He weighed a little over 5 lbs! Since he's the biggest of our adults I'm guessing my Pekins are White Layers. No wonder my mom didn't believe me when I told her my Pekins weren't much bigger than my Cayuga, Rouen and Khaki Campbell's. Do White Layers ever get orange bills though? If I'm remembering correctly, 3 or 4 of the ducklings have orange bills, like the color of their legs, and the rest are more pink.
Very likely a White Layer. - Be happy: They are much healthier in the long run than Pekin ducks.

Tell me about it! I have 12-15 eggs per day and duck eggs do really sell bad here in WV.I'm also hoping that my mom might be more interested in taking some if I tell her they're White Layers. They have a farm and sell chicken eggs. They had planned to sell duck eggs too but their ducks either don't lay well or hide them. These girls lay like crazy. I'll be drowning in duck eggs by spring.

Whew! Good that i am allergic to cocoa…Brownies? Oh my gosh brownies made with duck eggs. So yum!
You have a very nice variety of ducks! I can't wait until mine are that size. My ducklings flip a lid when I give the chickens scraps so now I have to bring them their own. Right now they love cooked rice, peas, and red grapes cut up. It's amazing that in 6 days they know who we are and all about scrap feeding times (usually lunch time and after dinner). They still don't go into their house by themselves, but my husband really enjoys putting them in every night. Hopefully they'll do it on their own because we have 1 hen who runs out of the coop into the dark towards him so he can "tuck her in", she is our special chicken. She's always been the odd chicken and my favorite since the day we purchased her.I wasn't planning to post this video, got a tripod for my phone and tried it out but pointed the camera too deep… The white Duck with the red band on her leg is Blanca, the one with the green band is Earthquack.
