New EE babies

Awww. I think EE babies are so cute with those stripes etc!
When they start out with stripes like that what do they generally turn out to look like grown?

I am envious. I wish mine had already arrived safely too...

Sounds
like you're supposed to start at around 95-100 degrees, and decrease by five degrees weekly, until they are fully feathered (around 8 weeks..?). I think you're supposed to keep the heat lamp on all day, but I've heard that chicks are more comfortable with an infrared bulb (well, I'd prefer to sleep with an infrared bulb on than a bright white light).

Hope this helped a bit.

I have another question. Sorry!

These chicks are only 3 DAYS old. The feed store said they are pullets. I laughed because I don't think there is any possible way to know that at this young of an age. Am I right? The sign said that ALL the chicks in the brooder were pullets.

I will tell Harry that you think he's cute. He'll be excited--he was a pound puppy that no one would have (they thought he had mange) because he is partially hairless. He's a sweetheart!
