Can you folks help identify our birds, mainly want to know what Abraham (father of many) our rooster is. Also any help with the other girls would be great too. We do know that the chicks are either red or white as we raised three.
Two are red so i think they are suppose to be hens. So I guess the white one would be a roo. BTW how old are rooster when the learn to crow? Thanks Magpie

Your rooster is a mixed breed bird, possibly a red sex link. The hens look to be hatchery red birds--rhode island and new hampshire, maybe. The chicks from this mix aren't sex linked, so the coloring would be co-incidental.

Your red hens look like Production Reds and your rooster looks like a mixed breed to me (nice looking fellow btw).

Roosters crow when they want to. Some start at 7 weeks of age, some don't start until 7 months or older.

Some rarely crow, some won't stop.
