Oh cool! Until I read what it was I thought it was a spider web!

Summer officially ends today. Leaves will be the stars soon, I love fall color. I have already started cutting down next year's firewood. Soon it will be hunting and trapping season.

Hot Tea, green or black will help also and a Tsp or2 of honey. there are also certain teas that will help with constriction and relieve some of the scarey symptoms, but have to look them up. I want to think Yarrow tea is great for breathing difficulties.

Chances are that his diagnosis of " croup" was in fact Asthma in the first place, Its a common misdiagnosis.

Both you and your son can get through the scarey parts of an attack with light meditaion.

I try not to use medications, especially my rescue inhaler, (to me it tastes and smells like the air in a tire eww)
Sitting on a bed or comfy chair and picturing a still quiet place with deep breathing can most times relax constricted airways.
I try to visualize sitting by a stream and the air I am breathing in is coming off the water all fresh washed and crisp.
Being able to control the breathing as we know panic restricts the airways more, is going to go a long way in using the rescue inhaler as often.
Hope this helps a little...

I've used the coffee trick too. Because Caffeine is a vasodilator, it also helps those little bronchio thingees.

I've had asthma since I got pneumonia in the early 80's.
It acts up with stress, mould, pollen, dust, cats, dogs, but my chickens never bothered me.

To me, the inhaler tastes like Suede Spray...the stuff you use to clean your suede boots and shoes...I used to sell shoes so I can tell you that truthfully.

Thanks Gypsy, Spook and Brenda,
Its been really good to hear from people with experience offering suggestions.
I think you are right about the misdiagnosis as well, I had been thinking about that.
I will try everyones suggestions, he is so young that I want him to learn some coping techniques as well.
Thanks to everyone.
