New Fabrics Today! Pics ~Hand Quilting Complete!! New Pics! ~

It's finished. Here is a shot of how the blue binding looks and my label on a back corner. Sorry, the color is weird because I'm not quite sure how to use the camera settings yet and it was very dark inside.

Wow!!! I so want to get back to quilting! I miss it soooooo much! I haven't quilted in almost 5 years, since my daughter came into our lives suddenly at 27 hours old!!! What a story that is...maybe for another post. Anyways, your quilt is gorgeous and such beautiful work! Life just seems to get away from me and I don't even work outside the home anymore! Seems like since I quit working, no one else can survive unless I take care of everything!!! Maybe I should go back to work and then I will have time to do things for me!!! NOT!!! Oh well, one day all the fabric, patterns, books and tools will be brought out of retirement and more great pieces of art will be created. Once again, beautiful quilt!!!

Cynthia, beautiful fabrics and a wonderful quilt!

I was at my Grandma's and she has a number of quilts and each time I see aa fabric or a half finished quilt I think of sending all the way to Georgia!

Wow! That quilt is a real beauty. You did an amazing job and like everyone else, I can't believe how fast you got this done!

I saw the date on the back. Did you also sign your name?

Yes, my initial and last name are on there.

I never used to sign and date my quilts, but I do now.

Sibone, you changed your screen name! I almost didn't see who you were till I saw the Africa location.

Thanks! I think it turned out pretty good myself, though it's not my personal taste (not into white or yellow myself).

My next project is a double/queen size made with 9 patch blocks, but will have fabrics used to create a sort of watercolor/colorwash effect. This will be challenging. I'll make tons of 9 patch blocks in dark, med and light tones, some half and half, then arrange them on a design board till they have the right feel. I'll have to buy another $50 worth of fabrics since you can't use solids or symmetrical patterns or small prints, and they really need to be swirly or floral types, of which I have very few. The challenge will be the color placement since you really don't need complicated or outline quilting designs on a watercolor quilt since those would detract from the fading effect of that type quilt.

I love watercolor quilts! Please run a thread for that one as well. Quilts seem to be such an easy thing for you to do.
I wish I got along with my sewing machine better. It and the vacuum cleaner hate me. (really, they do.)
