I just acquired a new female Duck who is about 2 months younger than my existing flock. She hasn't reached mating age yet, my existing flock has been mating for quite a while now. My question is, do I need to keep her separated from my drakes, or is this something that I don't need to worry about?
I currently have her housed with my slightly younger, and often picked on group of Khakis during work hours and at night.

Second question, on average...how long have you found that it takes for a flock to accept a new member/pecking order is established?
Attaching pictures just because I'm a proud momma, they don't have anything to do with my questions.

I'm not really sure, to be honest. I have only had to introduce new ducks twice, and basically I just threw em in and watched for a few minutes to make sure all went well. I know different people have different ways, thats just how I do it, lol. Also, you have a lovely flock! How many drakes and hens?
Edit: Forgot to add, if she hasnt reached mating age its best to keep her away from drakes. They can badly harm and even kill young ducks by mating too early.

I have introduced new ducks to the flock a few times. I have found if the new duck is mature it goes much better than if the new duck is still maturing. I don't know why that is or if my experience is unique to my flock. I have found the younger ducks need to be at least large enough to hold their own if picked on. Friday I dropped a new to me mature Cayuga drake in with my flock and it went very well. There was a little bullying but within a few hours he was right in there with the rest of the pack.

I am also dealing with a couple ducks not yet at sexual maturity that my Muscovy drake has taken a shine to... I've been keeping him away from them for now. He is rather persistent though. LOL!

Good luck. Eventually they will integrate and be one big happy flock. This is my new Cayuga drake. He is a stunner!
