New from Blue Springs, MO help w/ no chicken laws!!!!

I have been reading others actions here on the forums - particularly - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/652976/spoke-at-my-city-hall-meeting-about-ordinances - which gave me some helpful points to dive into. I just need to figure out the right folks to approach now in BS.

Good Morning BYC lovers! I joined just now in support of this endeavor. Backyard chickens are allowed in several neighboring cities. That is a plus! I would like to know more about what has already been discussed and attempted with City Council. If the holdback is that the council members need to see that there is enough interest, then let's find out the magic number and show the interest! Let me know what I can do to help!

Wanted to throw my hat in to the support ring. I would LOVE to be able to have chickens... or anything really, BS is pretty strick about livestock in general. Currently the code states:

Section 215.125
Livestock and Farm Animals.

[Ord. No. 3179 §3, 11-1-1999]
No livestock or farm animals, even if considered pets by the owner, shall be kept in any residentially zoned district within the City of Blue Springs unless they are allowed and approved as a Conditional Use pursuant to Title IV of the Code of Ordinances, City of Blue Springs, Missouri.

Now, I've tried to figure out exactly what "Title IV" is and how to apply for conditional use, but the BSGOV website isn't very user friendly. When I called City Hall I was transferred around and put on hold until I gave up. Next chance I have I may just go down there. I would love to hear what others have discovered and conversations you've had. Maybe together we can get something done!

I love a home in BS, but refuse to buy due to chicken ordinances. Where are the meetings, what times, and who is the main point of contact? Please respond! Let's get this changed!!
