Hi all. My name is Robin. I have 8 chickens I'm raising. I've had them since April of this year. I joined so I can learn more about chickens. I had almost zero knowledge, aside from basics, before I got my girls. They've grown so fast. They were chicks when I got them and they are now laying eggs. I look forward to learning from you all.
Hi Robin. This is indeed the right place and you chose the right time. We Cluckers and Quackers are pleased to make your acquaintance and look forward to your input. Nose around a bit, make yourself comfortable, then feel free to prop up your heels and chime in. Welcome, welcome. welcome.

@RobinSmith93 - Welcome to BYC, first off! :welcome

So glad you've joined us, and that you have a little flock of our own already laying yummy eggs! We'd love to hear more about your flock and future goals as a chicken keeper. Don't be worried about knowing only a little about chickens! You've come to an extremely wonderful place for learning and care information. We have a big assortment of article posts, and if you can't find a past forum post about an issue you may be having, just make a post! Folks here are really knowledgeable and willing to help no matter the issue or concern.

Being newer to chicken keeping, I suggest you please do read up on predator prevention. I'm a neighbor state over and we encounter coyote, fox, weasel, raccoon, and possum frequently. Also, a game camera on your coop helps identify any potential predators lurking. We picked up one in the hunting/sports section and have had it for a few years.

Best wishes in your chicken keeper journey!
