Aw Tami sorry to hear about your Porcelain!! Adorable Silkie though!! I am so excited that I added those 4 silkies to my order, i Just hope ONE is a pullet and not all roos.

We have a cat, Jake, who's a ragdoll that's grey & white long haired and I keep looking at him and think he looks like silkies...he's my pseudo-chicken until I get mine!! LOL. 15 more days...yikes! (Assuming it takes 2 days to get mine from Ideal!)

Only 3 days until my peeps are scheduled to ship...

I think I have tweeked the brooder as far as it's gonna go.
The grow out pen is ready.
4 bags of Starter feed stockpiled in a safe place.

DH got let go from factory where he was doing Temp work today. Don't know whether to cry or cheer.

Now he can be here when the babies arrive...

but we don't know when or where the Temp service is going to assign him next......

My new Babies arrived at the Post Office this morning! They called me at 6:48 am...I went out...no, ran out and started the car, turned on the brooder, plugged in space heaters, Filled waterers, feeders, fed & watered the big hens... and flew to town. Happy! Happy! Received 109 birds...ordered 101 + 1 free Exotic from McMurray. One was DOA. Not bad!!!!

I am SO confused! I have so many beautiful little peeps, that I can't figure out which one is different from all the others; Rare chick?

I guess If it is a dominique or something else similar to a regular breed, I may never know

I have separated them (sort) by color into the 3 shelves of my brooder. I spent the ENTIRE day Saturday, just watching them. Today I have to go to Church and the feed store. My big girls are out of feed, and I discovered that we had stockpiled non-medicated chick starter... so have to get a bag of the medicated stuff.
