I am so sorry that is a terrible feeling I know I have now had 7 lost I ordered 25 total and mc murry will not ship replacements. I am so disapointed. A few were doa and the rest just were laying and not moving. I just held the to make the comfortable as they passed.I have to say I am very disapointed and sad.I hope the rest pull thru. It was only 9 degrees here this morning. I think they just werent warm enough.

Why won't they ship you more??? That's a load of crap!! They are sending me replacements for ALL of them...why would they do this for me and not for you?? Yes, I lost 22 out of the 30 but still??? I will NEVER order from them again....

I'm a little disappointed in the order we got today from McMurray, too. The post office put it on the truck instead of holding at will call. The mailman told me they were a lot less active by the time they got to me, so I was scared. When I opened the box they all looked dead. I had to pick them up one by one to see what was alive. Eight were dead in the box, and I just lost another after a couple hours in the brooder. They've all had their beaks dipped and I have gro-gel out for them. I really hope we don't lose anymore. We didn't need all 25 chicks, and had planned to sell the rest. It's just gut-wrenching to have the little guys die on you.

I emailed Estes a little while ago and asked since we are supposed to have REALLY bad weather for the next few days, if I could postpone my order for another week. I don't want to drive the 25 miles into Springfield IF we should get snow and ice. I feel really bad for all of you that are loosing babies at this time. Don't know why they can't find a better way to ship them and have them survive. Sorry to all of you for your losses.

I am up to 10 lost now. This is heatbraking watching them die. I did call Mc murry hatchery back and they said to call back wendsday with a final count of the ones lost and they will either credit or refund. I think they just froze during shipping and althou I am doing everything right it is just too late.

You'd really think there would be a better way, with chicks having been shipped by USPS for so long now. I just lost another, so we're down to 15 alive out of 26. I'm still worried about a couple. I totally did not expect to have this many deaths. :eek:/

That storm hitting the Midwest this week is supposed to be BAD. I'd postpone orders if I could, too.
