I feel so bad for you. It is so hard on babies to go so far this time of year. Mine left McMurray the 28th, arrived to me on the 29th, and I still had 1 DOA. I am so glad I ordered from a hatchery so close to home! McMurray is always so good to replace lost birds. They really can't control what happens in the post...but they always take the initiative to make it right for you anyway.

I will order from them again...So far have only had the 1 DOA and then lost one on Sunday while I was at church. But nothing like the loss you had! Let us know how the replacement order works for you.

They are making it right for me, thank goodness. I just pray that this next shipment goes ok. I WILL be picking them up at the airport this time. I called them to make sure they get a call out to me when they arrive. With all the bad weather, they can't be sitting at my local post office till they decide to call me!!

My daughter asked me to hold it so it could try to live from me loving it. She is 7.

Oh that just breaks your heart. Luckily my daughter is taking it pretty well. We'll probably just take the credit or refund because we didn't need all 25 chicks to begin with.

Hopefully the replacement orders are fine. I wish they'd put some kind of warmer in the boxes.

I just checked 5 more dead and they are all gooey looking and non of them can stand up. I have never seen anything like it. All I can do is let them die. I took pics but I cant even look at the yet. I hope it was the cold and they werent diseased or something. I am going to start a thread to see if it could be any thing else.

So sorry for everybody's loss. I ordered 25 from mcmurrys as well, and they had arrived at the post office sunday morning, the post office called me right away to give me the option of picking them up or waiting until today for my mailman to bring them, i told them i would be right there. All were absolutely fine and were eating like crazy. I to live in the northeast so it was cold as well, i think the reason mine survived was because the post office called right away, dont think the hatchery has control of whether they do that or not....hope everything goes well in everybodys next shipments...i will keep prayers out for the lil ones to arrive safely!

I have a feeling the time spent at the post office and on that truck is what killed those that were still alive when they got there. We lost another just before dinner, so we're at 14 alive of 26...at least that was the last time I checked. They just had no energy left and couldn't get up to eat or drink. I have a feeling we may get 12 that survive the night.

So sorry so many are gone, chicknduck.
