I'm jealous! I didn't get a puffy head. All I got was turkends and who-knows-whats.

But hey, it's all good. They are cute and have feathers...the eggs taste the same, and I suspect they all taste like chicken.

I didn't get a puffy head one either...hmmm! O well, I love the ones I have and everyone is alive and well!! It's all I can ask for and more!! I LOVE the pics!!! I am gonna get more of mine when I get home. My DH has a Cannon Rebel camera so gonna take lots of great pics!! Keep posting the pics...we all love to see new fuzzies!!

ok I have been looking at the baby chick pics on McMurray's website trying to figure out my rare breed, and the rest of us who have a puffy head that looks like mine.

I think they are White Crested Black Polish.

click on the link to the baby chick picture. This looks very similar to mine. Orange legs, the right coloring etc. If I'm right, what a cool looking bird!

Also I took apart the box they were shipped in to see how well they were packaged.

They did NOT include a heat pack, but the birds were all touching. I think I actually have 27! I keep counting 27!!! So an extra one was shipped. WOOOOTTTTT

The box had a layer of styrofoam on the bottom, then cardboard, they the layer of hay type stuff. Around the perimeter of the box on the inside they also put a layer of corragated cardboard as an extra layer.

I am SOOOO happy all are doing well.

Wow, first experience with new chicks. Have a weak one- the polish crested special chick. Every few minutes, stick his little beak in the electrolyte water,
All the rest are doing well.
If I could figure out how to put in the pics I would.

I wish I could have gotten a pic! My baby chicks, craning thier little necks trying to touch my little 2 year old grandaughter's tiny little finger. Adorable... baby to baby, checking each other out. Priceless!!!
