Your temperature sounds too high to me. I hatched mostly around 99.5 a tad bit higher but not over 100.5 degrees. Don't know if the temperature thing is standard for all breeds or not so I could be wrong, Darleen.

If your temperature is running that high and your thermostat is set at99.5 your going to need to turn it down in this heat.
I wouldnt even attempt hatching during a heat wave, remember the temp of the room if not stablized will effect the incubatores internal temperature.

It depends on the incubator, and whether it's still air or forced air. The temperature for forced air bators are around 99.5-100.0. Still air runs a little higher.

Oh Boy!!! I am cooking them then! I went and checked it at one point and it had spiked to 104.2....Arghhhhhh! Thank God the 3 little guys that hatched out were still alive and stumbling all over the bator! I opened the lid and let it cool down a bit. I thought that it had to be over 101.5 for the humidity to get higher...no??? Oh geez, I dont think hatching is for me. Maybe I will put them under the 2 broodies I have that are probably going to starve and dehydrate cause the refuse to eat or drink anything I give them, they just grumble! Maybe I should breed mice, Dont seem to have a problem with them being all over the place! LOL

nah your fine they can take it for a little while , just turn the temp back to 88.5 and watch the room temp as it will spike the inside, are you usiing a still air or one equipt with a fan. there can be a huge difference in temps depending.

Hello everyone. I got a question for all you rabbit people. I got two rabbits for my kids at the swap in Milford. today we noticed the male was acting weird. He seems to be swaying his head to the right. Like almost if someone was falling asleep? His eyes will do the same thing. He is eating well and drinking good too but was wondering if there is some sort of nero disease rabbits could get with poor breeding? The man we got them from had a ton of them there and was selling them for dirt cheap so who knows, but my son is pretty upset about his behavior.

Thats ok gypsy I respect your opinion and agree but couldnt help myself with these two. He will hold his head up and then it will tilt to the right, then he will pull it back up and it will fall to the right again. He does have red/pink eyes. he is an all white male named snowball. Pink eyes, nose etc. He is around 4/5 months or so.

Ugh ok Rye Neck,
if he was scanning which red eyed rabbits tend to do , and yes its creepy lol,

ok Ivermectin the horse paste, amount about the size of a small pea will get you started, most times Wry Neck is a parasite, and sometimes can be fixed with ivermectin.
sometimes its genetic but we want to start simple here first.
If you have a vet who can give you a script for Baytrill that will help also , they will need to know exactly how much he weighs.
clean the cage with 100% bleach solution, do not dilute, rinse 3 or 4 times let dry in direct sunlight. or changfe cage completely with a new one, torch the old one.

I will get you a link to Barbie Browns website, she had tremendouse success bringing a rabbit out of wry neck.

http://www.barbibrownsbunnies.com/ecuniculi.htm

If you have more questions than I can answer email Barbie, she is the sweetest person you will want to meet.
just put wry neck in the subject line and she will get back to you as soon as possible.
