LOL I can't wait for swaps to start up again, but meanwhile i am happy as could be with the chickens i have....... My big girls are doing great with laying, i am totally pleased with the variety and quality of eggs we are getting from our laying flock---green, brown, chocolate brown, speckled, white, cream, and pink! I can't imaging not going out to the coop at least twice a day, my girls are always happy to see me and i them.

My Salmon Faverolle rooster is HUGE now, but the nicest boy, and gorgeous to boot!
Back in Nov/Dec we got a bunch of young chicks from Just A Country Girl....and because it was so late in the year, i decided to keep them inside for the entire winter, in a fancy cage i built. We have a Mille Fleur hen, a MF crossed with Black-tailed Japanese white (roo), a gorgeous little white silkie (hope it's a she), plus 4 Seramas (2 boys, 2 girls). It's working out great---i am totally in love with these little guys, especially the Seramas! The kids and i handle them frequently, and the Seramas are so docile and sweet. The little roos talk to me all the time, and do their little dances. LOL They are just too adorable!
I grew up on a farm, but never did much with the chickens back then, so i never dreamed i would love them so much now!

The kids collect far more than we do.

I don't know Men do a pretty good job too (at least this one) lol... He loves the recycle center, not to drop stuff off either..

The one here does the same thing, and he often brings the kids. Ugh. I don't let them get out of the car when we get there.

Hey....wait a minute... it's not all the guys. We have a 3 car garage and my wife has managed to fill up a 16x24 ft bay in said garage with her "craft stuff", mostly stuff from the dump.

Ed has managed to fill a 20 by 40 barn. And half the basement. The kids filled the house and the other half of the basement. They just love to go to the swap shop at the dump. I have to try to sneak it all back there when no one is looking.

But I did take over the 12 by 20 shed and put new chickens in there.

I love the swap shop at the dump.
My son in law won't let me go anymore when he goes because I filled the back of his pickup one time............lol
I got a nice large cage and a futon that someone had just dropped off.
