So what was your favorite find from this past swap season? Mine were some bantam faverolle eggs from Laura (Poultry Run Farm). The kids loved them so much I'm going to have to build a bantam coop and get some bantam favs next year.

And now that this season is coming to a close what are people's plans for next year? Any new breeds? Interesting new crosses?

what is the origin of your name? I too like odd names. I have a lot of kids to name right now so am looking everywhere for unique names. If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them. I have an easter egger that I just named kandy korn. she is white with heavy gold lacing. about 50/50 each color

My 2nd fav would be my speckled sussex from Val (firedove). This bird is the tamest thing I have ever seen, she will sit on your shoulder like a parrot... my oldest son loves her. I guess no freezer camp for that one.

Next year hopefully we will start our dunghill fowl project, we have a good start... and yes Wendy I haven't forgotten about the paintings I promised you, I'll try to send them this week.
I was also hoping to start with a trio of red dorkings, but don't really want to buy 25 birds right now to get them

hi dave, I got a speckled sussex this year too. I am very impressed with the breed. very friendly and very beautiful. I love the beetle green in the speckles. she is as big if not bigger than my buff orpington. she was one of my great discoveries. the photos of this breed really do not do them justice.

Hey Dave, how about a pic of your sussex roo? I'd love to see what he looks like.

i need to borrow a camera so we can play hen or roo with these std cochins, i just dont know and they are big enough that i should be able to tell, i am thinking i am living in the state of denial thats the problem.
