Hi All,

I'm in northern Strafford County! Nice to see so many NH folks keeping chickens. I have just 5 right now. I hope to get some day olds or hatching eggs soon. I had a hawk kill one of my easter eggers last weekend.

Later!

Hello! I'm a newbie to the forum and live in Raymond. We have had chickens for just over a year and chicken math has struck already! 19 full grown and babies in the brooder!

Hi all, I have a weekend home in Deerfield, NH and come through Raymond often on the way. Just received an efowl shipment i ordered in February! I think there are around 40 longtails, of different colors, all day olds. If anyone wants a few, pm me, and we'll arrange drop off. I don't want to give up all of them, but I ordered that many thinking they wouldn't all make it.
Straight run. and I'll figger out which colors there are. I just cant recall, as it was a while ago.
Love the chicken math!

HI! Just found this thread and am new to chicken ownership! We live in Loudon and are currently owners of 12 cute 3 1/2 week old chicks in the brooder. ALthough we are new to this, we (the kids and I, maybe not DH so much) are addicted already! Nice to meet you all!

Hi all,
I brought home a few chicks almost two weeks ago now. I am being wonder if one of my cuckoo marans is a cockerel. Is there an easy way to distinguish male/female at this point (they are about 6 wks. old)? One in particular is getting fairly white about the neck and head. The tail feathers also seem to be a bit longer and more straight up than the other.
It isn't a huge concern - these are my first chicks and if he is truly a he, my first rooster.

If anybody is interested, I have a barnyard mix rooster available for free to a good home. I'm in MA. Visit the classified in my signature for my details/pictures. PM me if interested.

Hello! I'm in a small town outside of Keene. We don't have chickens yet. Next springs project Im afraid. Hate waiting but I'm sure they will be worth it. Anyways hope to learn more about chickens and keeping them happy and healthy in NH. I'm either going to have to order chicks from two separate feed stores to get the ones I want or I will have to order online direct from a hatchery. If anyone local is looking for chicks in 2013 and wants to split an order keep me in mind. :)
