Hello NH! Any one have or know anywhere I can get winter chicks? I'm looking for Buff Orpingtons. I could also order some but I think a lot of the winter minimal numbers are 25 and I don't need that many. Unless someone else wants to do some winter chicks and share an order? I would like 6 and would take max 10. I live in New Boston.

I have a friend in VT hatching some buffs this week. If you are interested I can put you guys in touch.

Where and what is everyone buying for layer feed? Price?

Just looking at options to buy cheaper/better feed. I currently buy layer pellets from Blue Seal at $13.06 for 50lb bag

I buy Green Mountain Organics layer pellets at Agway. They have an option with or without soy (I'm fine with the soy but know some don't want it). I can't remember the price but if I recall its around $20 for a 50lb bag.

So, not cheaper than what you get, but I have been very happy with the quality. I've used it for 3+ years now.

I buy DuMOR layer pellets at Tractor Supply, 50lb bags for 12.99

It is Dodges Grain in Salem. They are great. They get shipments all year so you can call and ask what they currently have and whats coming up.
