Love the site! Good luck with the cochins! My guys go out in the winter under a covered run.

You have some tough chickens! I don't think mine would be that bold, lol

Thanks for the feedback on my site

Hey NottinghamChicks, some lovely chickens you have there. I especially like the EE crosses. I like the idea of the plexiglass sides. Do you remove it in the summer? I am planning on a pretty large run, about 10 x 20 or 20 x 20 so maybe I will only do part of it with plexiglass. I love your website. I am doing a lot bit by bit with my property. I plan on using an old horse pasture as a supervised "free range" area. Looking forward to all that great fertilizer!

The pelxiglas is EXPENSIVE, but we had some large pieces from a salvage job (my husband is a contractor) and it took me over a year but I was able to talk him into installing some on my run!!!

I will take it down in the summer for a great crossbreeze however. I like your idea with the pasture and wish I had more room for my girls for their supervised outings

Thanks for the nice comments and I cannot say that I have any one favorite as I love them all!!!

Welcome!

I know some people over there in Raymond, it tends to be a "little out of the way"

And yes, the waiting is the hardest - both when hatching and getting them in the mail!

Thank you all for the warm welcome

BrewedinNH- Hi neighbor! Yes, we are actually converting our garden shed into a chicken coop. I'm trying to decide whether or not I need a run though? My yard is fenced and I want them to free range so I'm on the fence about a run (no pun intended), any advice?

I would for sure suggest a run. This really comes in handy when you are not home or maybe need to go away and have a chicken sitter. I love my runs and pens. I do let them out all the time but it is great to know they have a safe place all their own.
