OMG I'm so sad. My broody momma took he babies out while I was gone and there is only one left out of three. One was a black bantam baby and one was a BO mix. They were two days old. Does anyone have any babies neat derry nh?? She keeps looking for her babies and calling for them.

Im in Derry but the soonest I would have babies would be Aug 26. I do have day old Cornish Cross(meat chicks)

Thank you so much! I will go to dodge grain tomorrow. I didn't think of them. It says they are getting chicks in tomorrow so thats perfect timing.

Thank you everyone for your condolences. I'm so sad as this is the first time I've lost a chick. I just feel so bad for the mom.

Yes. She is very protective but I think us just inexperienced. So I went and picked up two two day olds and she accepted one if them but won't except the other. She doesn't like the SS. So poor thing is in my pocket right now asleep. What can I do?

Oh Boy! Strange she accepted one and not the other. It might be the color of it. I would try to put her with the mom a few more times but watch closely and take it back if need be. Another option would be to take them all from her and put them in a brooder together. Next option would be go back to the store and buy one more friend for your SS and put just those 2 in a brooder.

Hey do you guys happen to know the prices on the RIR laying hens at dodge grain? that's not to far from me and I might be interested in another hen

When I was there a couple weeks ago, the only ones that were of laying age were the red stars. I think they are priced at 20. All their beaks were trimmed and I'm not a fan of that so I picked up a 12 week old Partridge Rock and Gold Laced Wyandotte. Those were $12. I think the month old range bird cost $6 and the chicks are like $3. HTH
