we put some hay in the nest boxesGood Morning,
Anyone know where to get a bale for straw in the Littleton, Whitefield area on a Sunday? Have been fighting a cocci outbreak, and used the last of the bale last night. Doing a deep clean today, with ammonia and pressure washer and need to put down the straw, for winter insulation, at the bottom of deep litter start first, before adding the shavings...leaves when they fall, will be next layer. Boy didn't it get cold last night up here, aye? That straw has kept mine nice and dry, up off the poo's and very warm in the coop. I'm going to put some sevin down on top of the straw to help prevent mites and lice, ect also...big project, and thought I had enough to do one layer left..but nope...and HAD to top it off last night. Didn't lose a one, thanks to the corid!!! Caught is early enough!!!
Thanks for any ideas. I am willing to go a bit, if I have to, maybe 30 miles or so? Gotta Try to get this done today...really don't want to redo this, as have been right out straight with fighting this...all are fine though. Run is so close to being done, will be done today, so they can be out so I can do this, but will lose the pressure washer today, as it will go back to Boston with the manager. Appreciate ANY help you could give!!! Thanks so much!!!
Anyone else having issues with cocci this year? Was wondering if this was wide spread because of the rainy summer we've had? or if I have an issue with my land ?
Heading to Lowes in Littleton for supplies we ran low on, for the run door, ect, first thing, so if you know of a local farm and can help early, I would be forever grateful! Trying to get this project finished today and have lots of little things left to do on the coop too.
Thanks
Mithious
if you have birds that end up going to the showHave another question but no rush. Does anyone show their birds around here? If so, how do you keep your birds safe from disease at the shows? If that is even possible? I was thinking of showing at some point, but have been rethinking it, with all the diseases I have been reading about. I'd hate to go and come back with more than I left with, ya know what I mean? I asked this on another thread and they suggested asking in my area. Also, has anyone heard how NH is making out with the MG/MS problem we have had this summer? Chickens are a hobby for me, at this point in my life, so if there is really no way to keep my birds safe, at a show, then I will not do it! Any and all advice and ideas are welcome!
Thanks in advance!!!
