I am so glad to hear Tiny has made it and is finally eating, that is such wonderful new's. Thanks for the updates, hope she can continue to thrive

Well, I saw her drink and I think she can eat, too, but she'd rather be held by anyone human than to be living with those chicks who are three times larger than she is.

I'm sure there are as we do have FFA here, but have no way to contact any of them. The schools are closed and have been for days now due to icy mountain roads.

Fabulous news about Tiny!!! She is eating crumble and drinking on her own!!!

And, she also seems to be associating more with the others this morning. She is still very, very small, but if she continues this trend, I think she'll make it. Now, to see how large she ends up being--I'm not positive it's a pullet, but it just seems like one to me. If a tiny rooster, maybe Shadow can have a little black Ameraucana hubby some day soon.

We almost culled her a couple days ago when all she'd do is cheep her head off and refuse to eat from the feeder. We changed the feeder from the small round mason jar type to the long red plastic one with lots of holes in it. Not sure why that would make a difference or that it actually did, but it was needed anyway for 19 chicks to eat all at once.

Maybe the red feed gives her enough of a contrast to be able to see the crumbles?

What ever the reason maybe - the red feeder sounds like a keeper.
