New here and to chicken

Thats a tough one lol. Hardest part so far is deciding. Ive got it narrowed down to black australorp, black orpington, lavender orpington, wyandotte, silkies, ayam cemani, and the only ones I know for sure I wanna get is french blue breese.

Those are all excellent breeds to choose from. Hope you can narrow it down.

Yeah I've heard that orpington and australorp are both great layers, very friendly and easy to work with for beginners

A good place to start looking for chicks is your local farm or feed store. You can check with them to see if they have any chicks available or if they can recommend a local breeder. You can also search for hatcheries online, but make sure to do your research and read reviews before ordering. Some reputable hatcheries that ship chicks include Murray McMurray Hatchery, Cackle Hatchery, and Ideal Poultry. Your local 4-H club can usually direct you to quality breeders and lastly, check our Buy Sell and Trade forums at the bottom of the BYC forum list. Good luck!
