I'm starting to wonder if he is some kind of mix as when I look at silkie pictures they look fluffier

I see what you mean, that could be true. Or he could just be a hatchery quality Silkie, which aren't as quality as breeder quality.

I'll post some better pictures tomorrow (was kinda hoping to hear opinions on how he looks as to me he looks a little, of a better word, haggard but been kind of scared to ask)
