New here with questions

Good news! Today is day 7 and I just candled my eggs! Out of 9, only 2 are infertile - the other 7 are looking great, loose air sacs and all! Time to start tipping them back and forth! Grow little chicks!!!!!! I also got impatient and ended up finding 2 barred rock hens and a silkie hen (my daughter wanted one) so I actually have my first 3 chickens out in the coop! Really hope these eggs make it!
Good luck!!!

Chicks are due to hatch tomorrow but heard some chirping this morning asi was getting ready for work. Looked in the incubator and I have one healthy looking chick completely out already!

3 out so far. Another whirling on it but struggling. Beak is out but membrane looks dry. Don't know how long to leave it before intervening.

Still only 3 and the other hasn't made progress. He's still and beak is out breathingbut no progress since yesterday morning. What do I do?

I did end up assisting. It was extremely tedious as his wings were stuck to his head. I got him out and unstuck completely but he still doesn't look right. He still has sticky stuff that is now dry and hardened. I have tried to attach a picture. He is a real fighter and very vocal so I don't want to give up on him because he appears very healthy other than this issue.

If the stickiness interferes with his ability to move, see, function, you can give him a wash up in warm water with a little blue dawn dish detergent to get it off so he can move freely. Just make sure that you do not get water in his nose and that he is dried off quickly and doesn't get chilled.

Sav a chick electrolyte in water, or sugar water often helps chicks right after hatch, especially when they've not had an easy hatch.

That little chick is lucky to have somebody willing to help, good work on your part

I bet it was tedious.... last year, I found a small lizard that had been trying to get under the mudroom door and he got stuck on an adhesive tape. I carefully cut the tape around him and sat down to get him loose from it. I used mayo to make the adhesive loosen up and a q-tip to gently massage his microscopic toes lose from it. That was stressful. Every now and then I had to stop and let us both have a rest, but I did finally get his toes and legs free of it. The part that was stuck to his belly, I just cut around it and left it to fall off later on it's own. He seemed to be able to move ok, and off he went....
