That little chick is lucky to have somebody willing to help, good work on your part

I bet it was tedious.... last year, I found a small lizard that had been trying to get under the mudroom door and he got stuck on an adhesive tape. I carefully cut the tape around him and sat down to get him loose from it. I used mayo to make the adhesive loosen up and a q-tip to gently massage his microscopic toes lose from it. That was stressful. Every now and then I had to stop and let us both have a rest, but I did finally get his toes and legs free of it. The part that was stuck to his belly, I just cut around it and left it to fall off later on it's own. He seemed to be able to move ok, and off he went....
Awe. How sweet. I'll save anything except most insects and arachnids...lol

Here's the other 3. I think the black one is a hen and the one with lots of yellow is a roo. Not sure about the other one but I'm leaning more towards rooster. It's the one on my hand in the last pic

What kind of hens do you currently have? I recently picked up a couple of little speckled sussex girls and they're very docile and friendly.... it's fun to go out and have them run up to see you

A barred rock (mean) and a silkie. These are all barred rock chicks. I'm worried the older barred rock will pick on the chicks when I introduce them. She beats on the silkie all the time

I don't like barred rocks. I had 2 (one got taken by a predator this spring). Never been very pleasant birds. My silkies are

, my Spitz are pretty good birds and my mixes are pretty sweet. Most of my nns are cool too. Chicks are adorable though...lol

Lol I don't know why I just love barred rocks. I wanted a whole flock of them. But now I'm thinking maybe I'll keep 6 birds and have some different types

Oh wow, I'm surprised... but I guess plain ol' meanness can run in any breed, just like the Ameraucana hens I had, mean birds! Those two girls harassed all my others! ... I always read such good things about the Rocks...hmm.

I've heard good things about silkies
