Hi all,
I'm glad I found this site. Love reading posts so much good info out there.
I live in SE Ok. I work at a farm and garden store. I decided this spring to get some chicks.I started out with 10 and now down to 5 original, was given a roo just last week. I lost 2 due to the heat, we have had the hottest, driest summer here it broke records. I also lost a baby. Then lost two to predators. I wasn't locking them in the hen house at night because of the heat. Now I lock them up. I have a nice coop with a good sized fenced area so they get to go out and scratch around in the day.This may sound strange but I love to go out and sit and watch my chickens. specially after a hard day at work. I find it to be really relaxing.
I also have 4 ducks, 3 poodles, one australian cattle dog a QH mare and a donkey.
