New Here

Good idea, just remeber geese and other wild life are very sensitive to chemicals like round up and fertilizers.
Good point! Our school district has really tough restrictions on what ou can and cannot use in the greenhouses where students work so we literally cannot use anything remotely toxic. We fertilize our baskets and pots with a slow release pellet. We manually weed the greenhouse and we use lady bugs and praying mantis for pest control. Not the most effective methods but its what we got :/

I commend you all on doing it natural.

I just bought my first goose. Any advice is much appreciated!!

If you can get it a partner, do it. Geese are very social animals and will be lonely by themselves. Even having it with chickens or ducks it wont truely be happy. If you do not
want babies then get one the same sex as yours. Congrats on getting a new goose! They are great birds to have around.

I bought a duck too and they're really bonding. You think getting 1 more duck and 1 More goose would be ideal? I have chickens on the way as well. I'm a little nervouse about integrating them

If you have room for them and dont mind having more, then i would. They all would be happier. I kept my goslings seperated from my chicks/chickens until they were all adults. They could see each other but couldnt get to each other. The goslings might not get hurt but chicks could get smashed. Mine as adults get along great. They eat together, drink together and share the nesting house.
