New Horse Owner, Any tips would be welcome!

Looks like QH mare to me... I'm curious to see if I'm right

Bingo!:clap

forgive me Bunny.... but what breed horses do you have? He/She is sooo pretty...

deb

That's OK, deb, and thanks, y'all. Sometimes I forget how pretty she is.

That's Latte, and she's one of those horses that they warn you about. I first met her as a fairly well-trained 4-year-old (about as well as a 4-year-old can be, anyway). She was bought to become a lesson pony. Well, she didn't like being a lesson pony, and started taking shots at the kids . . . and anyone else that didn't watch her. Like most horses, she does whatever she thinks she can get away with. If she has a strong leader, she is quite content to do as she's told, but she will test from time to time to make sure the rules are still the rules.

Naughty Latte! Well I'm sure she has a great home with you! :)

Pallet Barn.jpg

this is what I am thinking of making for a mini barn. I will make it longer of course and add gates to it to make a stable too. What do you guys think? I am no expert in building anything, but I thought this would be easy since I could just pick up some free pallets at the local feed stores.

Looks like a good sheep shed....

Whats your climate like? Here for most a two sided shelter with a roof is about all you need. My horse until recently has had only a big Roof for shade.... 24 x 24 feet... we get snow in winter... but its very dry here. She stands in a snow storm and lets it pile up on her back by morning she looks like a Dark Chocolate sunday.... LOL. and No I dont blanket.

Hmm, maybe I will look for different plans then. I live in Louisiana, I just moved here so I have not experienced winter yet. Lol, that is funny!

Simple Barn .jpg

how is this? I will of course make it longer like you said, add a gate on one end to make it into a stable, and close in one end and add walls to make a mini feed and tack room.
