Seriously, though, this new system is much more objective and even across the board. I think once we get a good feel for it and the membership is used to it, it will make everything flow smoother.

That was a GREAT analogy.

It's kind of like the comment you made on someone's thread about what to do about contamination of eggs (salmonella and whatnot). Your suggestion was "don't lick the eggs". HA! I still pull that one out when people are being especially dense.

So you know that link at the bottom that brings up the threads you have posted on? Is there any way to delete threads from that page? Sometimes you get sucked into a thread that goes downhill. Out of sight/out of mind would make it easier to stay out of it when it heads south. (And yes, I realize that we should all have the self-control to just not comment, but gosh that is really hard to do sometimes).

Only a very tiny percentage of people thus far have recieved an award. In an earlier statement by Nifty.. not sure if I can do this quote thing right because I'm computer illiterate, but I'll try;

I was rewarded with a "friend" badge, and although I'm not sure if this was a thread I was involved in, it still sorta made me feel singled out and yes, I'm a bit embarrassed.


So for whatever wrong I did, I do apoligize to the OP and if someone will be so kind as to point me to the OP in a PM, I'll be happy to apoligize directly to them.

Again, please understand I am in NO way trying to argue or start anything, just trying to understand.

Nifty and the Mods were NOT responsible for the post. The intent was certainly not to parade someone's mistakes - so if that was the interpretation, I am truly sorry.

Every single member that has been nominated and received an Award should be very proud of the fact that they are held in such high regard and esteem by their peers.

I am new to BYC and have to admit that this is giving me a headache. When you are a member of a forum with this many people remember people bark because they can't bite! Take it from where its coming from, a computer screen, and move forward.

Trolling is certainly the most challenging to moderate. There's no simple rule - It's all in how you come across. We don't have to all agree, but we need to respect others and their opinions as well. And the points aren't there forever.

ETA: And regarding questioning moderation - you are always free to PM us and ask, just don't put it out on the forum questioning it. You may not get the details - like the reason a thread was closed for example, but you can ask about why a post of yours was beyond the rules. We're not the big, bad guys sitting here with dolls waiting to stick a pin in you and watch you twitch.
