No, crap isn't profanity. Profanity would be edited out by the language filter - so if you post it and the word changes in your post, it's profanity. But if you use symbols to get around the filter, you're breaking the rules.

Exactly. It all depends on how you are using it. If it is part of breaking the rules, like flaming where you call someone a name, then it becomes a violation.

I'm always so surprised watching (regular network - not cable) TV now. It seems every other day I hear another word and think: OMG - we can say THAT now???

I'm confused how Rule #9 works. I just read the "warnings" and number 9 is just do not post personal info you do not want others to see..

How can you get points for doing something wrong when your the one choosing what info you want others to have access to?

Can I get points for not putting enough info or something?

I don't understand how that one has any points tied to it is all

We have a LOT of young members on here and we added that rule to help ensure that they aren't posting their ages, phone numbers addresses, etc. It is also a very bad idea to post this information into a 100% public forum if you are an adult.

That's the type of information that shouldn't be posted and the main reason why it is prohibited.

One personal item that isn't addressed is posting your PayPal account address. While most people use their email address for their PayPal account address, it's still a good idea to not post it publicly in the BSA section - you should only give it out as needed to your buyers.

Is anybody else getting spammed by an email address purporting to be a member here (one that was concerned about being classified as a spammer, no less)?

Starts with:

Friends,

I get e-mails from "Garfield Museum" from time to time announcing events and progress.

When you see any spam that you think might be coming from BYC via email, pm, etc. report it IMMEDIATELY. We need to know the username, email address, contents of the spam message, and all other information to track it and stop it (if it really is coming from BYC).

Okay, So im just Wondering here. If i give my Opinion on Somthing and Somone else doesnt like it, they contact a Moderator/Admin and say that they were offended even thou They asked for some Advice? Im Confused here, ((No offence to anyone)) but i think this will make some of the Long-time Members leave.

BY all means give advice when asked. Just don't do it rudely.
Advice can be helpful or not. Mean or not. Nasty or not.

It is all in the tone.
