Yes, People get offended here Too Easy. I thought this was suposed to be a Friendly Website, But now that i see this.....im having Alot of Second thoughts!!

If you feel someone's post is out of line, you click report in he lower right corner of the post. That gets our attention and we look into it.

Very true. Just because a post is reported, doesn't mean any action is taken.

I got the impression from this new system that the rules weren't changing, and that the moderation and/or enforcement of the rules wasn't changing.

It's just that now we can/will accumulate points for our infractions, and if we accumulate enough points, we can earn ourselves some time off from BYC.

So if we've never gotten a PM from a Mod in the past asking us to change our language, tone, etc,, and they haven't had to edit or delete our comments out of posts, chances are we don't need to worry, unless we change the way we conduct ourselves.

But if we're on the Mod's PM Speed Dial, and they have to edit or delete a lot of our posts, we're probably going to start accumulating points.

Yup, the rules and the way we moderate them will remain the same. The only thing that has changed is better record keeping for our moderators and better transparency and information for our members.

Exactly ... the rules haven't changed. Just the system we use which allows use to be more effective and communicate mod to mod better. In that way we can deal with issues faster and know who to add to speed dial that week.

Moderation is still based on mod discussion and procedures that have been in place for years.
