NJchixs- that is one of the many reasons why I HATE cats. In fact, the domestic cat is the only animal I hate. I hope you are okay.

oh NJCHIXS! you poor thing! Rabies shots are the worst too. I get them every few years for work and they hurt.

So i mentioned that I was setting a trap out to catch the opossum that killed our chickens last week. Well...................... this morning we went outside and there's a big ole' skunk in the trap.

Does anyone think a skunk could have killed them???????

I wouldn't doubt it... However, I would leave the trap out longer, incase the skunk was not the culprit.

NJChix, hope you feel better soon and you don't need extra shots. I just went to the doctor today cuz I was pulling weeds and got poison ivy (rabies much worse though) but its spreading everyday and what was just on my hands is now on my back, neck, arms, legs. Yuck, its so gross looking not to mention it itches so bad. Doctor gave me oral steroids, oral antihistamine and topical cortisone. I hate taking all that medication, but if it takes away the itch, I'll do it. Going to take some chick pics now before they get bigger and scruffy looking. LOL!

Llandry- I would reset that trap like shadow rabbit said. It's possible it was the skunk, but I would feel better getting rid of the opossum.

Sparklechic - poison ivy sux. You poor thing you must feel miserable. I just feel like a voodoo doll with all these pokes. The steroids should help. And yes get those photos before they get to be awkward teenagers.

The skunk has successfully relocated to Allaire State Park. I still smell pretty too. It was really young, squirrel size. No way it was the culprit. We'll see what tonight brings!

Poison ivy is the absolute worst! In second grade I decided I was done with school and rubbed it all over myself. I got it soooo bad. Even on my scalp. Worst part was there was only like a month left of school so it was warm out and being the 70's, terry cloth was in style and that's itchy by itself!

Well that's good. Keep resetting it I'm sure there is more to catch. I admit they are a little cute, those beady little eyes, but remember no one gets a free pass no matter how cute.
