Oh, man. From what you mentioned to me, that looks like a Cornish Cross, aka a meatie, aka a Frankenchicken. Jeez. Those things grow so fast that is could be only about four weeks and still be that big. It's hard to tell from that view, but if you come by, I can take a better look at her.

Thanks for your offer! I really do want to come up and check them both out! But now that Mame1616 informed me that I may have a bit of trouble keeping Marsie alive, I'm not sure I should get another. I'm so upset. I really will be crushed if she doesn't survive. Thankfully, Mame lives close to me and she's going to take a look at her on Saturday to let me know if she can give me some advice. If it seems I may have a chance at keeping her healthy for a while, I'd love to come on Sunday to peak at your Remaining girls. Are you still available then?

Sorry LilNugget, I meant to PM you all day, but got caught up at work. I was thinking you could take the last Orloff if you still wanted to come up - or you could take the JG, I wouldn't charge you anything for her. We could see how she looks on Saturday and you can take your pick. Her wound is superficial, I just didn't want to sell her to someone with a fresh cut on her neck. But by this weekend I imagine she should be much improved.
It's up to you No pressure now that the extras are (mostly) gone!

Yes - I am going out with the family in the afternoon, but before 1-2 PM would be fine If you can't make it up or if you want to wait until you know what's going on with your Marsie, it's not a problem at all. These girls aren't going anywhere for a while.

So, a month ago, I got my first egg from my Silkie, Raven. Well two days ago, I grabbed an egg out of the nest box thinking it was Raven's, but upon closer inspection, I noticed it was large, brown, and shiny, unlike my Silkie's small, pink, shell-like egg texture. Turns out it was my Orpington, Doodle. Here it is! The pic does not do justice colorwise.

Theexcitement doesn't end there though, because when I got home today, I found a beautiful green egg in the box from one of my EE bantams, Tulip. I hope my other EE lays blue! Again, the pic does not capture the color well.

My BR is 7 mon old and i didn't think she was going to lay either. We had a serious talk about a week and a half ago and wa-lah, 2 days later- an egg!
