New Jersey

I'm on the dividing line of brick and point. You could actually put either town or midstreams too on my mail and it'll get to me :) My dad's place down the street is brick for the front yard and point for the back. My husband tries to argue that we live in whatever town has the cheaper taxes and I argue for the one with the better schools!

I am in NW NJ (near Hope), so it may be too far from you, but I have several pullets I'd like to sell. They are about 3.5-4 months old. Two SLW's, one black australorp, one naked neck, one gold pencilled hamburg. I don't think I'm leaving anyone out...

The hurricane took out my smaller coop, so right now they are in my main coop and it's too crowded.

Here are the NN and australorp.

do u have photos of the Hamburgs and Orloffs?

Hey guys, can I give baby chicks treats or only adults? They've only been eating starter feed but I thought giving a treat everyday might help with socializing. What's the healthiest? Thanks so much!!

I have one picture of the hamburg. She's hatchery quality...her pencilling is lacking, although it seems to be coming in more with this molt. She's not the prettiest, but she does have a lot of personality.

I have some pictures of the Orloffs from about a month ago. These aren't necessarily the same birds I'm selling, but they all look very similar.
I could get some pictures of the ones I am selling, but it'd have to be this weekend. It's dark by the time I get home on weekdays.

I'm told they'll develop more spangling as they age.

I have had several e-mails since I also posted these guys on CL. But none are officially taken yet.

You can give them some yogurt. Try some fresh veggies or lettuce. It always was trial and error when they were little. Now forget it, they jump on me trying to get whatever I have. They even try to steal my kids snacks if they aren't too quick to put it in their mouth.

One of mine jumped up and took a half of a sandwich right out of my daughters hand this weekend. Mine also love watermelon, pumpkin, cottage cheese, blueberries, the list goes on. They go bananas for captain crunch but i don't give them it much :p

When mine were young like your new babies, treats were hit or miss. They liked something one day but not the next. I had a much easier time with live treats. I went to the pet store and bought live meal worms and crickets. They love the meal worms and it was what i used to train them to come when i called them. Watching them chase the crickets around was a blast too.

I tried collard greens and lettuce but they just kind of played with it after fighting over it. Lol. But it did make them less scared of my hand going in, I think they were more intrigued than frightened. Can they have cheddar? I have a bunch left from TG apps!

Everyone thinks we are nuts. It's good to know there are other NJ folks that love chickens out there!
