That's when the begging began a little while later the husband started with things like, "if you rake the run each week......... If you help with the weekly coop scrub down......." Ok, off to wash eight birds, set up traveling cages, put "stay-clean" cages in the coop, pack dishes and food for the show, give the inside animals extra food for the weekend, clean out my truck, and pack my own stuff. Sleep is optional tonight.

Today is hatch day! I've been at work all day but had one start hatching yesterday. When I woke up this morning I noticed the membrane had dried to the chick so I had to peel back the dried part that was stuck to the chick and it popped right out. I've been having such problems with the humidity! I think the water is just evaporating too quickly with the heat in the basement. Anyways, since I already had the incubator opened, I filled up the reservoirs again and taped up a hole. Mom called to tell me another hatched out just fine so hopefully that did the trick!
