Oh wow! I used to hang out there and my husband graduated from Paulsboro High. Do you have a large coop / run? How about your neighbors, they don't mind chickens in the area. I know the houses are pretty close. I had some concerns where I live.

Hi! I was on BYC for a short time a few years ago, now I am back. I am from Clarksboro / East Greenwich in Gloucester County. I have only seen a few people on here from near that area. I raised day old chicks to chickens before and I just had to do it again. It is very addicting and I have just fell in love with chickens. Right now I have 3 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds, and 1 Black Australorp. They are 3 weeks.
I am married (21 yrs.) , have 3 daughters (20,18,17) and 1 adorable granddaughter (2yrs.in May).
Looks just like the two I got from you.I had my two OE eggs hatch! I was so disappointed that only one of the first batch hatched out, I'm really happy to have two to keep for myself! Hopefully at least one is a girl.
My other EE and wheaten marans chicks are doing great...based on how the chicks are feathering out, it looks like my BW ameraucana is the EE's dad. That's fine - he came from Peachick eggs, so should carry great blue egg genes.

Hi, I am right around the corner form you in Paulsboro ( billingsport section). Welcome!!![]()
We actually just got our first chicks ever today!!Our Coop is on the smaller side. It is a work in progress for us, the coop was given to us as a gift and claims to house 5 hens. However we are not sure our girls are going to have enough room. We are going to re- configure the design and build the nesting boxes on the side of the coop. This should then give 5 plenty of room. Our Run on the other hand is pretty large 16lx8wx6h.Oh wow! I used to hang out there and my husband graduated from Paulsboro High. Do you have a large coop / run? How about you, what is you set up and are your neighbors good? We have looked into moving to that area, I really like Clarksboro.Oh wow! I FINALLY GOT CHICKS!!!!!!We ended up with a completely different flock then we had in mind. We have a EE, Buff Orpington, Welsummer, Speckled Sussex, and a Cuckoo Marans.
We ended up with one more then planned but I couldn't say no to the EE. The woman could not guarantee that it is a female, but hopefully it is.
I do have a question, how can I tell if my brooder is to hot for them? They where hatched on 3/6 so what temp would be good for them. They are in a big rubber maid container, they look like they are panting, and kinda laying them selves out. We turned the lamp off to see what would happen and they seem happier, maybe to hot? IDK maybe I am just nervous...lol
Thanks
